Hip-hop veteran Lil Wayne dropped his hotly anticipated Tha Carter V album this week.

Wheezy has been teasing us with Carter Vfor five years now, with rumours swirling about when – or if – the album was going to be released.

Really, we could forgive Lil Wayne for making us wait so long. The guy’s been in prison, in hospital and not to mention the age-old dispute between him and record label Cash Money.

In 2014, Lil Wayne entered into an intense court battle with Cash Money and Universal, later taking Birdman to court and suing Cash Money for $51 million for violating their contract by supposedly withholding the record.

Without an album to speak of, Lil Wayne has earned himself a reputation as a feature artist, collaborating with others on what seems to be every other rap song released.
